June 2004

My article titled "The Digital African Safari" has been published in the Summer 2004 issue of PhotoMedia magazine.

This article, based on my trip to Kenya last September, looks at the requirements for shooting digital while on an extended wildlife photography trip in a third-world location. Considered are storage needs, workflow requirements, batteries and power, backup and redundancy, dust, and general tips on planning a safari in Africa.

PhotoMedia magazine, now in its 16th year of publication in the Pacific Northwest, targets professional and serious amateur photographers, communications and graphic arts professionals, educators, students, and people in the photographic industry. The Summer 2004 issue is focused on nature and wildlife photography, and also features an interview with noted wildlife photographer George Lepp.
